St Benildus/Dundrum

Series started in 1987 and ended in 2000. The first two editions were played with an active time-limit. Until 1990 the tournament name was the Dundrum Chess Classic. From 1991 with the venue moving to St Benildus College, it became known as the Dundrum and Benildus Chess Classic. From 1995 reference to Dundrum appears to have been removed from the tournament name.

  1. My thanks to Hugh Byrne for supplying the results for the 1989 edition, sourced from Tim Harding;s Sunday Press column.

While adding that information to this page, I have taken the opportunity to add results for the two active tournaments in 1987 and 1988 and also making a number of minor additions and revisions.
